Jonathan Helser has led me into God’s presence more consistently than any other worship leader. The lyrics he and his wife write, connect with me in such a remarkable way. It’s sort of like their music leads me to places I didn’t know I needed to go and gives words to what my heart feels.
You came. That’s so simple but it’s all that is necessary. Even when I’ve prayed and prayed and begged for Him to respond a certain way, I come to the realization that I didn’t need anything from Him. I needed Him. That’s it. My grand visions of what He should do disappear when I realize how close He is.
I’ve posted a lot about Jonathan Helser over the years. Nobody connects my heart with God in worship like this guy. He doesn’t bring anything to the table that distracts me from experiencing God. There is very little about his music and arrangements that blow my mind but I’ve had so many mind blowing/life changing experiences with God through his worship. Something about his music draws me to the Father like a giant magnet.
“You don’t have to come, but You always do.” < -- I can hardly stand how good that is. There are so many times He shouldn't have come. Throughout the years I've given Him reasons not to come, but He always comes. He keeps coming and coming and coming.
